At Precious Moments, our mission is to provide inclusive, accessible and compassionate sign language interpreting services for life's most significant milestones. We are dedicated to ensuring that Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals and their families experience equal access to meaningful moments, fostering a sense of belonging and community. Through a commitment to affordability, equality and services, we strive to break down communication barriers and create a world where everyone's communication is respected and valued. In the spirit of giving back, we are committed to offering pro bono services whenever possible, ensuring that no one is excluded from life's precious moments due to financial limitations.

Traditionally, requests that are +1 hour need 2 interpreters, however there are several factors to consider such as the length of the event. Our coordinator will work with you to determine your needs.

We provide services for weddings and memorial services, but also cover baby showers, family reunions, graduation and retirement parties, Christmas/holiday gatherings, and more!

Unfortunately, no. All services are charged directly unless otherwise agreed upon. If needed, we are happy work with you to establish terms that are agreeable.

Yes! On a case by case basis. We recognize that paying out of pocket is not manageable for everyone. We depend on community donations to help fund pro bono services that assist in paying for the cost of interpreting services.

Our services are based exclusively on a flat rate agreement. The flat rate cost considers several factors, such as the interpreter's experience and qualification, the length of the event, prep time, and any applicable mileage. Contact us for an estimate!

We recognize how precious this moment is, however, hospitals and birthing centers are already staffed with interpreters or contracted with interpreting agencies for you to use. Contact the hospital or birthing center you plan to visit and ask them about their interpreting services.

We do not cover requests that are for everyday experiences or those which are generally covered by traditional agencies through conventional funding.
Therefore, we do not cover medical appointments, job orientations, stage performances, work place meetings, trainings, or any other types of professional consultations.

As soon as possible! We ask that all requests are submitted no later than 1 month prior to the event. Due to our desire to offer affordable costs and the nature of this line of work, we require time to procure an available interpreter that will suit your financial needs.
